ELCAR prepares for 2008 with intersquad scrimmage
The Estherville Lincoln Central Armstrong-Ringsted girls and boys cross country teams held their intersquad scrimmage Tuesday evening. For the girls team, it was a chance to make the varsity for the first race which is hosted by Spirit Lake next Tuesday. The top seven runners were Brittany Ross, Traci Speltz, Liz Larscheid, Brooke Egeland, Emily Jensen, Morgan Grabinoski and Samantha Natterstad. Only four boys ran the event with senior Dan Kirchner the first to cross the line.

Lakers struggle through first weekend

COUNCIL BLUFFS — The Iowa Lakes volleyball team won its first match of the season, but it was downhill from there at the Iowa Western Tournament this past weekend.
The Lakers returned home with a 1-6 record.

FORT DODGE — Iowa Lakes Community cross country runners had their first taste of action for the 2008 season at the time trial meet in Fort Dodge on Friday.
Both the men and women ran a 5K race together,.
