Black Knights announce cruise-in schedule

The Black Knights Car Club discussed the cruise-in schedule for this summer at the club's annual meeting at the Estherville VFW Post Tuesday night.

The first cruise-in will be 6:30-10 p.m. Friday, May 7 in Library Square in downtown Estherville.

The second will be held in conjunction with Emmet County Relay For Life and will be held from 4:30-10 p.m. Saturday, June 6.

The July cruise-in will be held Friday, July 2, again from 6:30-10 p.m. in Library Square.

The Friday, Aug. 6 cruise-in will be held from 6:30-10 p.m. in conjunction with Sweet Corn Days.

The final cruise-in for the season will be Friday, Sept. 3, again from 6:30-10 p.m.

With each cruise-in there will be a short cruise each night around 7:30 p.m. There will also be oldies music, popcorn and family fun.

The club's annual Sweet Corn Days car show will be held Saturday, Aug. 7, again in Library Square along North Sixth Street in Estherville from noon to 4 p.m. Registration will be held from10 a.m. to noon at the corner of First Avenue and Sixth Street. There will be a $10 fee for contestants with dash plaques to the first 100 entries and door prizes for registrants.

Trophies will be awarded at 3 p.m. Trophies will be awarded to the top 25 entries by participant vote. Special awards include Mayor's Choice, Best Mopar, Best Ford, Best GM, Best Truck and Best Paint.

Club members also discussed possibly participating in a car show and dance at the I-90 Expo Center in Sherburn, Minn.

Another possible activity is a cruise-in in Jackson, Minn. the fourth Friday of the month this summer.
