Accident claims Estherville man

An Estherville man was killed in a two-vehicle collison Wednesday night three miles west of Wallingford.

According to information from the Emmet County Sheriff's Office which received a call regarding a personal injury traffic accident at 10:42 p.m., Kyle Scott VanCleave, 25, of Estherville was driving a 2006 Harley-Davidson motorcycle northbound when he failed to stop for the stop sign at the intersection of Emmet County roads N26 and A34. VanCleave was struck by a westbound 2001 Pontiac driven by Kelly Lynn Caleb, 41, of Spencer.

Caleb had to be extricated from the vehicle by the Estherville Fire Department and Wallingford Fire and Rescue.

She was transported to Avera Holy Family Hospital by the Estherville Ambulance Service. VanCleave was pronounced dead at the scene.

The accident remains under investigation.

The Emmet County Sheriff's Office was assisted at the scene by the Estherville Police Department.
