To the EDN:
Congratulations to Director Laura Giebler and the ELC High School Marching Band on a great performance at the State Marching Band Competition in Fort Dodge on October 8.
The band members have been practicing early in the morning, 7-9 a.m. Monday-Friday since the middle of August and on Saturdays (4 hours) for many weeks.
In order to fine-tune their performance for the North Central Band Competition, Algona Band Days Competition, and the State Marching Band Competition, they also have performed during halftime at all the home football games, at the downtown Estherville Market, at Holiday Express, and marched in the Sweet Corn Days Parade.
They provide our school and community with a lot of school spirit and entertainment and should be recognized for all their efforts and hard work; which were very evident in their outstanding performance at State.
We all should be extremely proud of the way these young men and women have represented our school and community.
So when you see band members and Mrs. Giebler around town, please thank them for their dedication to our school and community.
Thank you ELC band members and director for a job well done.
Larry and Linda Niles,
