ESTHERVILLE - Funeral services for Arthur "Bud" White, 93, of Estherville will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 12, 2012, at First Presbyterian Church in Estherville with Pastor Lynn Elrod officiating. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Wednesday at Henry-Olson Funeral Chapel in Estherville. Interment will be at East Side Cemetery in Estherville with military graveside rites by VFW Post 3388 and American Legion Post 91 of Estherville.
He died Monday, Jan. 9, 2012, at Avera Holy Family Hospital in Estherville.
Arthur "Bud" Perry White, the son of Perry T. and Christine (Truelsen) White, was born Dec. 18, 1918, in Rolfe.

Bud attended school in Rolfe and Estherville schools. In 1934, he moved to a farm six miles northwest of Estherville with his family. He served in the United States Army from 1941-1945 serving in the 3rd Armored Division in Europe.
On Feb. 11, 1942, he was united in marriage to Hermina Wiseman in Jasper, Texas. Bud was engaged in farming and raising horses, cattle and hogs. He was one of the first to cross breed cows, Herefords and Angus. For hobbies, he enjoyed gardening, dancing, playing cards and especially spending time with his family.
He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church serving as trustee; past member of Emmet Consolidated School Board and Emmet County Cattlemen (past president). Bud also received several conservation awards, including the White Family Farms receiving a National Region III Cattlemen NCBA Environmental Stewardship Award.
Left to cherish Bud's memory is his wife of almost 70 years, Hermina, and two sons, Dennis White and his wife, Cindy, and Craig White and his wife, Margaret, all of Estherville. Also surviving are grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Angie White; Lance (Kelsey) White and their children, Tate and Gracie; Krista (Bill) Dean and their children, Bryce, Colton, Addyson; Brad (Jill) White and their children, Morgan, Maggie, Mara; and Betsey (Jason) Ulrich and their children, Isabella and Ainsley. Also surviving are a sister, Marilyn Tepley, and her husband, Roy, and sisters-in-law, Velma White Dorothy Kollofski and Kathryn Wiseman.
His parents; two brothers, Jack and Bill, and two sisters, Barbara White and Marjorie Timmons, have preceded him in death.
