The Estherville Lincoln Central High School Wrestling team wants to take the time to thank the community for the remarkable support we have received this year. We were only fortunate enough to perform at ELC twice this year, but the fans turned out on each occasion to support us. We have had many fundraisers over the last 12 months, and each and every one of them had been a tremendous success. Whether it was donating your empty cans or bottles, buying our tailgate food, writing checks, or donating to the Booster Club; we cannot say thank you enough.
The Parents of our wrestlers have been a large supporting group of our program this year. They donate a great deal of their time preparing for these fundraisers or tailgate events that help us raise this money; not to mention come support their children on a regular basis. They do this without question and often times at the last second. These events simply could not be done without them.
We need to specifically thank KILR Radio and the Estherville Daily News for all the coverage of the wrestling team this year. Whether it is wrestling or any other extra curricular event happening at ELC, these two institutions provide beyond great coverage of our students. It is truly neat to see the pride the kids have when their events are highlighted in the community by these two institutions.
Our recent trip to the State Tournament is a great example of how our community pulls together for the benefit of the students. Teamwork between businesses in the surrounding area were able to fund the trip of Mr. Dave Van Roekel and the great coverage of KILR, who covered many 1A and 2A athletes in the area. Photos from Dan Voigt of E'burg Publishing were shared with The Estherville Daily News to bring you visual highlights of your wrestlers' matches.
We cannot express in words how grateful we are for everyone's contributions this year! Even the simple "Good Luck" from a random stranger means so much. We truly owe part of our success this year to you and we hope to have many more successful years to come with our great community supporting us the entire way!
