Ask any Girl Scout in Estherville who Edna Lutzow is. And then get ready to listen for at least a half hour.
Lutzow is the cornerstone of the Girl Scout program in Estherville, tirelessly volunteering countless hours helping young girls and women grow straight and strong and independent - and able to take care of themselves.
And that means a lot.
Wherever you go, there Edna is, helping Girl Scouts with their projets, answering their questions, addressing their concerns.
Now it's everyone's chance to return the favor.
A benefit dinner for Edna will be held for Edna who is recovering from a stroke, this Sunday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday. Free-will proceeds from the lasagna dinner with salad, breadsticks and bars will go to assist with Edna's medical and rehab recovery expenses.
There will also be an auction of gift baskets and other items plus entertainment by the chancel choir, praise team and Sunday school students.
Even if you can't attend, you can help. Gifts may be sent to or dropped off at the United Methodist Church at 102 S. Eighth St. in Estherville.
