It's amazing how easily a group of kids can make a decision if you just let them do it.
A great case in point is Armstrong-Ringsted and North Sentral Kossuth students coming up with a new logo for the North Union Warriors this week. Students had earlier chosen a name for their new athletic team that will represent Armstrong-Ringsted, North Kossuth and Sentral schools starting this fall, incorporating the colors green, silver and black.
While the name Warriors may have left some people a little concerned about how the logo would be designed, particularly in light of the University of Iowa's decision to ban the Fighting Sioux of the University of North Dakota from a recent track meet, the students came up with a logo that's in good taste and very attractive.
It resembles a warrior more out of "The 300" - a Greek Warrior holding a lightning bolt. Students gave their input into the design which was drawn up by A-
R art teacher and artist J.D. Speltz.
Congratulations to the kids for coming up with the great logo. And congratulations to Mr. Speltz for a wonderful design. And congratulations to the faculty and staff of A-R and NSK for having the wisdom and vision let the people who really matter make the decision - the students.
