The Graettinger-Terril/Ruthven-Ayrshire Baseball Team won two of its final three games to finish the regular season with a 16-7 record.
On Friday, the Knights won 17-3 over Corwith-Wesley-Luverne in five innings.
Mitch Girres pitched all five innings. He gave up three runs (two earned) on two hits with 10 strikeouts and two walks.
At the plate, Tyler Dalen was 1-2 with a triple and three RBIs. Ethan Parker was 3-4 with an RBI. Quinn Parker was 2-3 with a double and three RBIs. Blaze Alesch was 1-4 with an RBI.
Also Michael Girres was 2-3, Logan Flaharty and Trevor Hagedorn each were 1-2 and Andrew Aeilts was 1-1.
On Monday, GT/RA split a doubleheader with Harris-Lake Park.
The Wolves took game one 13-3.
Tyler Dalen took the loss. He pitched 6 1/3 innings and gave up eight runs (five earned) on six hits with four strikeouts and four walks. Marcus Girres entered in relief and gave up four earned runs on no hits with three walks. Ethan Peterson also pitched and gave up one earned run on no hits with three walks.
GT/RA finished with four hits. Mitch Girres was 1-3 with a solo home run. Kyle Dalen was 1-1, Alesch was 1-2 and Flaharty was 1-3.
GT/RA came back to win the second game 12-5.
Alesch pitched a complete game as he gave up four unearned runs on two hits with 15 strikeouts and three walks.
GT/RA had eight hits. Peterson was 3-4 with a double, a triple and three RBIs. Michael Girres was 2-4 with three RBIs. Parker was 1-2 with two RBIs. Alesch was 1-4 and Zach Chacoine was 1-5 with an RBI.
GT/RA finishes in a tie for third in the Cornbelt Conference with West Bend-Mallard as both have a 6-4 record.
Postseason play starts Saturday
The Knights begin tournament play Saturday as they travel to St. Mary's in Storm Lake to play Newell-Fonda (9-15 overall) at 5 p.m.
GT/RA defeated the Mustangs 5-3 on June 26.
