The Black Knights Car Club heartily appreciates the support it received with donations for its annual Sweet Corn Days Car Show held Saturday, Aug. 4.
According to club president Ron Anderson, without the support of local businesses, the show would simply would not have been possible. Despite iffy weather, Anderson reported an excellent turnout due mainly to the excellent prizes the club was able to award car owners attending the show.
The Black Knights also invite the public out to view the cars on Murray Road just off Central Avenue before 9 a.m. Saturday. That's when an expected 200 classic cars will leave for the club's first-ever Cruise to the Lake. Cars will go to Treasure Village at West Okoboji, around Spirit Lake and cruise along the east side of West Spirit Lake.
For some years now, Black Knights Car Club members have been going to car shows for hundreds of miles in every direction, participating in car shows and cruises, bringing home the trophies and making friends with members of other clubs who have been coming to Estherville on a regular basis to participate in the monthly Friday night Black Knights cruises during the summer and the annual Sweet Corn Days Car Show.
A lot of those people will be here Saturday for the cruise which could possibly be the largest Black Knights gathering yet.
So come on down to Murray Road and see the cars Saturday morning.
