GRAETTINGER - The Graettinger-Terril/Ruthven-Ayrshire football team has a lot of work to do after last week's 48-12 loss to Marcus-Meriden-Cleghorn.
Titans' coach Todd Hough said he doesn't expect the road to get any easier as Remsen-Union comes to Ruthven tonight.
"Marcus-Meriden-Cleghorn is a good team and we would've had to play nearly mistake free to stay with them," Hough said. "Defensively we had one or two players no do what they were supposed to at times and that led to big plays."
Hough said although the Rockets lost 28-14 to West Bend-Mallard last week, he expects Remsen-Union to battle MMC for the top spot in District 1.
GT/RA, a District 2 team, will be tested in the first home game.
"Remsen-Union has a good running back, Jeremy Sanchez, and their quarterback (Cam Kuchel) is a big kid who can throw well," Hough said.
Kuchel threw for 94 yards while completing 7-of-20 passes against West Bend-Mallard last week.
Nick Braun led the Rockets' rushing with 69 yards on 13 carries while Sanchez was limited to 38 yards on 14 carries.
Hough said the focus for the Titans for this game, and the rest of the season, is being more disciplined and more consistent with their intensity.
"We need to play harder all the time instead of in spurts here and there," he said.
