ARMSTRONG - North Union dropped its home opener Friday as Bishop Garrigan got the better of the Warriors, 35-6.
The visiting Bears racked up 181 rushing yards on 41 carries and also had 117 yards passing. Garrigan scored one touchdown in the first quarter and two in the second to take a 21-0 lead.
North Union scored on a 49-yard pass from Jacob Braddock to Garrett Johnson to cut the lead to 21-6.
But Garrigan scored twice more in the final frame.
Marshall Klingenberg had five carries for 16 yards and Jake Adams had six carries for 16 yards.
Braddock was 7-of-16 passing for 117 yards.
Johnson had the one touchdown catch. Jake Adams had two catches for 11 yards while Matt Adams had one catch for 11 yards.
Ty Anderson led the defense with 12 tackles with Cody Runskmeier had eight and Johnson and Jacobs each had seven each.
Jacob Govern and Braddock each recovered a fumble.
The Warriors also gave up two fumbles.
Braddock and Adams both had an interception.
Klingenberg and Anderson each had a sack. Clyve Jensen blocked an extra point kick.
North Union (1-1 overall) hosts Emmetsburg next Friday.
