The Algona Girls High School Swim Team dropped a double dual at Boone on Tuesday, losing 59-39 to Perry and 55-47 to Boone.
Finishing second against Perry were the 200 med relay team of Alyssa Williams, Abby Strohman, Maddie Stubbs and Erica Carlson, the 200 free and 400 free relay teams with Williams, Stubbs, Carlson and Mackenzie Wilson in the 200 and Carlson, Casey Harms, Wilson and Leah Hamilton in the 400.
Individuals with second-place finishes were Kenne in the 200 free, Stubbs in the 200 individual medley and 100 butterfly, Williams in the 100 back. Kenne won the 500 free. Hamilton took third in the 200 free and Carlson took third in the 100 back.
Against Boone the 200 med relay team took first , Stubbs and Conner Yi went 1-2 in the 100 fly.
Kenne was first in the 500 free and Williams was first in the 100 back, Strohman was first in the 100 breast stroke, and Justine Yeoman was first in the 100 free. Shelby Brindley took third in the diving. Emily McMahon took third in the 100 breaststroke as did Hamilton in the 200 free and Carlson in the 100 back.
"Overall on the night every swimmer in an individual event had a season best varsity time as did the 400 free relay team," said Algona coach Jim Fisher
The team drops to 1-3 on the season and next up is the Algona home meet on Sept. 13 at the Y starting at 6:30 p.m.
The Algona Swim Team consists of athletes from Algona, Bishop Garrigan, Estherville Lincoln Central and Emmetsburg. ELC's participants are seniors Amber Schacherer and Mackenzie Wilson.
