Estherville Rotarians Thursday saw a couple great results of their club when Heather Natterstad and Anthony Segura reported on the Rotary Youth Leadership Awards in which they participated July 15-20 at Wartburg College in Waverly.
Both Natterstad and Segura, who were sponsored by Estherville Rotary Club, said they enjoyed the inspirational speakers whose topics included team-building.
Estherville Lincoln Central Principal Frank Christenson said this was the second year a RYLA leadership camp was based in Iowa, with 80 youth attending this year compared to 40 last year.

Natterstad said camp counselors are seniors or about to graduate. She said each group at camp had a counselor and a Rotarian.
Natterstad said the camp also offered information about Rotary scholarship programs.
Natterstad highly recommended the camp for any youth who want to attend. "I had an awesome time," she said.
Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA) is Rotary's leadership training program for young people. RYLA participants can be ages 14-30, but most clubs and districts choose to focus on a narrower age range, such as 14-18 or 19-30.
RYLA emphasizes leadership, citizenship and personal growth and aims to:
n Demonstrate Rotary's respect and concern for youth.
n Provide an effective training experience for selected youth and potential leaders.
n Encourage leadership of youth by youth.
n Recognize publicly young people who are rendering service to their communities.
