No one was injured in the crash of an ultralight plane Thursday evening near the Estherville Airport. The Emmet County Sheriff's Office received a report of an airplane crash around 7:15 p.m. east of Estherville.
Sheriff Mike Martens says an investigation determined that the ultralight type aircraft lost power and the pilot, Paul Slaughter of Estherville, was forced to land just inside of a cornfield near the Estherville Airport.
Slaughter was not injured in the incident and the ultralight aircraft received only minor damage.
The Estherville Police Department also responded to the scene.
