The Estherville Lincoln Central Junior Varsity Football Team won 38-0 in two 10-minute quarters of play against Cherokee on Monday. ELC opened the scoring with a 40-yard pass from Justin Heinrichs to Zach Humble. The duo then connected on the two-point conversion. Later Avery Hansen ran the ball in from 10 yards out with Heinrichs adding the two-point conversion. Carsten Bosch then broke free on a 53-yard run. Hansen later added a 24-yard touchdown run and two point conversion. In the second quarter, Heinrichs picked up a fumble and went 89 yards for the score. Hansen added the two-point conversion. Joe Heinrichs intercepted a pass, which set up the second touchdown of the game.
In freshmen play, ELC lost 38-28 to Cherokee.
Dan Christensen scored on a 75 yard run with Hunter King adding the two-point conversion. Mark Paulson scored on runs of 4, 2 and 5 yards. King caught another two-point conversion pass. ELC is at Algona next Monday.
