If you like good ol' time gospel music, Estherville is the place to be 3-6 p.m. Saturday for Gospel on the Square in Library Square.
The fourth annual event will feature performers from throughout the region.
Admission is free, but remember to bring your lawn chair and get comfy for some great, down-home gospel music.
Barns, an integral part of Iowa's rural heritage, will be the focus of the Iowa Barn Tour 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. One of the local featured barns will be on the Dan Harvey farm at 4516 190th St. two miles south of Gruver.
Sunday, Sept. 23 is a date to set on your calendar. It's the annual Black Knights Car Club airport drags 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Spencer Airport.
Admission is just $5 a person and there will be food available on the grounds.
This is a great event in a lot of ways. First of all, it's a lot of fun. You'll see cars from throughout the area and even other states pulling up to the line in the street-style drags.
Proceeds also go for a great cause. The Black Knights Car Club is a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping others, whether it's through college scholarships or helping people in need. They're always there, gearing up to help whomever they can.
This is the Knights' biggest fundraiser of the year, so show up if you can. That's 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday at the Spencer Airport.
