ARMSTRONG - Memorial services for Janice Dale, 79, of Fairmont, formerly of Armstrong, will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 14, 2012, at Nazareth Lutheran Church in Armstrong with Pastor Vance Toivonen officiating. Visitation will be 1 p.m. Sunday until the time of the service at Nazareth Lutheran Church in Armstrong. Interment will be at Fairview Memorial Cemetery in Fairmont, Minn.

She died Thursday, Oct. 11, 2012, at Lutz Wing in Fairmont, Minn.

Janice M. (Chapman) Dale, daughter of Kenneth and Maureen (Brogger) Chapman, was born July 30, 1933, in Butterfield, Minn.

She attended Fairmont High School, obtained her GED, and graduated from the Spencer School of Business.

She was united in marriage to Merritt T. Dale in 1950. The couple farmed in Armstrong for 45 years. Janice and Merritt then started Dales Recreation where she worked and did bookkeeping. In 1971 they purchased the State Line Store north of Armstrong where they lived and worked. She enjoyed bowling, bible study and dancing. Her greatest pleasure in life was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was a member of Nazareth Lutheran Church in Armstrong and active in circle.

Left to cherish Janice's memory are her husband, Merritt, of Fairmont; her children, Patricia (Jeff) Spicer, Savage Minn., Richard (Cathy) Dale, Armstrong, Catherine (Randal) Tiegs, Glenville, Minn., Robert Dale, Dolliver, Sarah (Ramon) Valetti, Algona, and Mike Dale, Sherburn Minn.; brother Bob Chapman; niece, Becky (Bob) Hanson and nephew James Chapman; sisters-in-law, Ella Dale and Jean (Ron) Kjos; brothers-in-law, Kenneth Dale and Dennis (Shelley) Dale; special friend, Angela (Greg) Hanson; 19 living grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
