HOLSTEIN - The Estherville Lincoln Central Boys Cross Country Team wrapped up the season at the Class 2A state-qualifying meet in Holstein on Monday.
The Midgets wrapped up the season placing 11th out of 13 teams with 258 points.
Freshman Lee Christensen led ELC with an 18th-place finish in 17 minutes, 52.69 seconds.
Zain Dostal was next as he placed 42bd in 18:43.40 and Nic Peters finished 63rd in 19:43.40, Martin Christensen finished in 64th in 19:43.82, Adam Reiter placed 85th in 21:31 and Kelly Clabaugh placed 86th in 21:32.
"The boys went out hard and got themselves into position early," said ELC coach Tina Burton. "Lee Christensen probably had one of his best races strategically. He kept himself close to the front of the pack and was aggressive. I felt like the other boys were equally as aggressive and attacked along the course each picking off runners. I could tell they wanted to end the season with their best race, each battled until the end."
Two seniors ran their final race for ELC.
"For the boys, we will lose Martin Christensen who has been with the team since seventh grade and Adam Reiter who was out for the team for the first year," said Burton. "Each senior has brought things to the team and will be missed next year. We wish them the best of luck in their other activities and future plans."
