FORT?DODGE - The Algona Girls Swim team wrapped up the season with an eighth place finish at the regional meet on Saturday scoring 95 points.

"It was a good meet, and very competitive for the most part," said Algona coach Jim Fisher. "We had already been up against Spencer, Boone, Storm Lake and Perry so we knew what they were like. Valley, Waukee and Sioux City Metro are all in the top 10 in the state."

Algona finished with eight personal best times, one team record and two season bests on the day.

"It was nice to have five of the personal bests set by returning swimmers for next year and the team record set by Nicole in her last meet, breaking her own record," said Fisher.

Placing seventh was the medley relay team of Alyssa Williams, Maddie Stubbs, Hannah Priest and Mackenzie Wilson.

The 400 freestyle relay team of Leah Hamilton, Wilson, Emma Plathe and Nicole Kenne set the season best time by five seconds to place eighth.
