Margaret Lucille (Moulds) Harvey, the daughter of Irvin and Wilah (Glime) Moulds, was born March 27, 1912, in Shellsburg, Iowa.
She received her education in the Shellsburg Consolidated School, graduating in 1929. After her graduation she attended Coe College and Creston Junior College receiving her Primary Teaching Certificate in 1931. Margaret moved to Gruver, Iowa in 1931 and taught school there until 1935.
Margaret was united in marriage to Robert Harvey on May 26, 1935. They made their home in the Gruver area where they raised their family and Margaret was both a mother and homemaker. Due to a teaching shortage Margaret was asked to return to teaching in 1945 and she continued to teach until 1966, when she fell and sustained a fracture and was forced to retire due to health reasons. In her leisure time she enjoyed being outdoors and in nature. She loved her cats and for hobbies she enjoyed flowers and gardening. She was an avid reader and even into her later years, loved cooking on her cookstove. As a true Iowa farm wife, Margaret listened avidly to the grain markets each day. Margaret enjoyed visiting with friends and she most cherished spending time with her family. Robert died in 1982.
She was a former member of First Presbyterian Church in Gruver. Margaret loved history and was a Board Member of the Emmet County Historical Society.
