The Iowa Lakes women's basketball team dropped two games this past weekend.
The Lakers fell to Dodge City Community College 63-49 and to Hutchinson 70-32.
Against Dodge City, Carla Barrera came off the bench to lead the Lakers with 19 points. Myangel Johnson also came off the bench and scored 15 points on 6-of-10 shooting from the field and 3-of-3 from the free throw line. Johnson pulled down a team-high 18 rebounds as the Lakers out-rebounded Dodge City 43-25.
However Iowa Lakes had 27 turnovers compared to 15 for Dodge City.
Leah Courtney finished with seven points while Sunday Duop had five and Shabreka Edwards had three.
Iowa Lakes had 35 turnovers against Hutchinson. Shabreka Edwards led Iowa Lakes with 10 points while Johnson had eight points, Duop had five, Barrera and Courntey each had three points, Alyssia Winston had two and Noelle Kindred had one.
Johnson had a team-high eight rebounds.
Iowa Lakes (1-8 overall) is at Council Bluffs on Friday for a 1 p.m. game against Fort Scott.
