SPIRIT LAKE - Strong second and fourth quarters helped Spirit Lake girls win their home opener against Hinton on Tuesday, 59-45.
The Indians held a 13-12 lead after one quarter and stretched their advantage to 30-18 at halftime. Hinton made a small rally in the third to cut the deficit to nine, 44-35.
K.J. Veldman led Spirit Lake with 26 points.
Spirit Lake (2-1 overall) is on the road against Jackson County Central on Saturday.
