"What's that firefighter sign for?" is the question people are asking.

Well the Estherville Fire Department has begun a fundraiser for a new Jaws of Life Rescue Truck.

While the department has its own Jaws of Life equipment, its vehicle is an ambulance.

The truck will be a multi-purpose vehicle that could also carry the necessary personnel needed.

The firefighters' fundraising sign is located at the southwest corner of the intersection of Central Avenue an Ninth Street. The firefighters are nearing the $6,000 mark.

Plans are in the works to raise the $250,00 for the truck purchase.

Fundraising events will be announced to the public in a timely fashion.

Persons wishing to make donations may call 712-260-0032 or visit the firefighters' website
