ARMSTRONG - Cheyanne Boland scored 17 points to help north Union get past Graettinger-Terril/Ruthven-Ayrshire 62-20 on Friday.
Both teams started slowly with the Warriors holding an 8-5 advantage after one quarter.
"I think we were a little tired after playing last night," said North Union coach Merle Tigges. "But we just picked it up and started knocking down shots."
Knock down shots they did, outscoring the Titans 23-8 in the second quarter to build a 31-13 halftime lead.
The defense stepped up in the second half as the Titans scored just three points in the third period while North Union built a 43-16 advantage.
Everyone scored for the Warriors.
Madison Bollig had eight points and four rebounds while Aurora Oliver had eight points, four assists and four steals.
Sarah Rolling finished with seven points and six steals while Jasmine Clausen had five points, four rebounds and four assists.
Peyton Oleson had four points, Madison Irmiter, Shelby Luke and Hanna Gardner each had three points, and Jaycie Eaton and Dena Looft each had two points. Looft had a team-high eight rebounds.
North Union (4-1 overall) is on the road against Clay Central-Everly on Tuesday.
GTRA (3-3 overall) is on the road against Laurens-Marathon next Thursday.
