EMMETSBURG?- Oscar Ramirez took first place at the Emmetsburg Tournament on Saturday to help the Midgets to a sixth-place finish overall on Saturday.
Class 3A school Fort Dodge finished first with 219 points while Class 1A school St. Edmond of Fort Dodge finished second with 206.5 points.
Host Emmetsburg, ranked second in Class 1A, finished third with 163 points followed by Okoboji with 117.5, Central Lyon/George-Little Rock with 100, ELC with 97, LeMars and Storm Lake each with 83 and Odebolt-Arthur/Battle Creek-Ida Grove with 76.5.

ELC had nine wrestlers at the meet with seven of them placing in the top six.
Ramirez (132) started the day with a pin in 1:09 against LeMars' Mason Weiler in 1:09 and he then pinned Storm Lake's Juan Figueroa in 5:58. In the finals, he won by technical fall, 15-0 in 2:32, over Cory Alexander of Fort Dodge.
Blake Gjerde finished second in the tournament. He started the day with a pin over Kent Krager of OA-BCIG in 1:52 and then won a 14-1 majrod decision against St. Edmond's Parker Huebsch. In the finals, he lost by fall to Taylor Cody of Okoboji in 2:24.
Billy Snyder (152) finished third while Thomas Bortvit (138) and Chase Bonner (220) finished fourth.
Cole Budach finished fifth at 120 pounds while Trey Trompeter placed sixth at 170 pounds. Easter Gifford (106) and Jake Bortvit (182) did not place.
ELC is on the road at Sibley on Thursday.
