JACKSON, Minn. - Spirit Lake wrestled at the Jackson County Central Invitational on Saturday and finished 10 overall.
Zach Skopec led the Indians with a first-place finish at 145 pounds while Doug Miner finished second at 120 pounds.
Skopec opened the day with a technical fall (16-1) over Jordan Clarke of Fulda, Minn. and then pinned New Ulm's Austin Brandes in 1:05, Wabasso's Dominic Ourada in 3:44 and Eli Dooyema of Luverne in 3:12 to earn the title.
Miner pinned Tate Meyer of Fulda in 1:34 and JCC's Dakota Rossow in 1:30 followed an 11-4 decision over Spencer Jennings of Wabasso to reach the finals. He then lost by fall in 7:40 to Tom Walton of Fargo North in the finals.
Also Cody Norton placed fourth at 285 pounds and Kenten Murray placed fifth at 145 pounds.
Spirit Lake travels to Cherokee on Thursday for a double dual with the Braves and LeMars.
