Neighborhood Artist Review features ELC seventh-graders

Artwork on display through January

January 8, 2013
By Michael Tidemann - Staff Writer , Estherville Daily News

Chalk pastels by Estherville Lincoln Central seventh-graders are the featured art in this month's Neighborhood Artist Review at NorthStar Bank at 2202 Central Ave. in Estherville.

Instructor Jerry Wilson said the students were challenged with imagining how light would cast shadows. He told students about blending according to the color wheel and using highlights and reflections in their work, working from back to front and from dark to light.

Students drew pencil lines for their compositions then put down lines of glue within which the forms were drawn.
