LAURENS - Graettinger-Terril/Ruthven-Ayrshire only placed one wrestler in the Twin Lakes Conference finals as the Titans placed seven overall at the tournament on Saturday.
South Central Calhoun won the conference title with 228 points followed by Manson Northwest Webster with 214, Prairie Valley with 189, Pocahontas Area with 16.95, Alta-Aurelia with 105, Sioux Central/Laurens-Marathon with 79.5, GTRA with 79, Southeast Webster-Grand with 57, East Sac County with 42 and West Bend-Mallard with 14.
GTRA heavyweight Cody Thompson made the finals with a pair of pins as he defeated Sioux Central's Tyler Stockwell in 3:13 and Manson-Northwest Webster's Tim Butcher in 3:11.
But in the finals, he faced South Central Calhoun's Aron King and lost a 5-2 decision.
Four Titan wrestlers competed for third place with two of them earning third and two earning fourth.
Austin Thompson (126) opened the day with a loss by fall in 3:34 to Jordan Rozenboom of Manson and came back by pinning his next two opponents. He beat East Sac's Matt Marshall in 13 seconds and Sioux Central's Riley DeSilva in 1:09 to place third.
At 145 pounds, Tyler Hoffman opened the day by pinning Alta-Aurelia's Dylan Ohlson in 5:33, but he then lost by fall to Pocahontas Area's Daniel Summerlot in 1:28. Hoffman came back by pinning Southeast Webster-Grand's Brad Hemmestad in 2:37. He then pinned Ohlson for the second time in 3:13 in the third-place match.
Matt McGrauth (152) and Kyle Long (195) both placed fourth.
McGrauth opened the day with a 6-4 decision over Manson's Skyler Michalski, but then lost by fall in 1:29 to Prairie Valley's Taylor Clough. McGrauth then pinned Alta-Aurelia's Jeremiah Ruby in 1:25 to get to the third-place match where he lost to Pocahontas Area's Tyler Hubrich in 3:08.
Long lost his first match of the day by fall to Sioux Central's Cameron Graff in 1:44, but then pinned Pocahontas Area's Zach Shott in 3:52 and won an 18-4 major decision over Alta-Aurelia's Joe Rodrigues. But in the third-place match, he lost by fall to South Central Calhoun's Nolan Machovec in 4:30.
Also competing for GTRA on Saturday were Sam George (120), Justin Rodriguez (138) and Kodi Ferguson (160).
