GRAETTINGER - The defense was there for North Union, the offense wasn't.
After falling behind 12-2 in the first quarter to Graettinger-Terril/Ruthven-Ayrshire on Friday, the Warriors battled to within three by the start of the fourth quarter.
But then North Union only scored five points in the final frame as the Titans won 43-32.
"We played the perfect defensive game," said North Union coach Curt Fothergill. "We just couldn't put the ball in the basket.
Conner Sturgill led GTRA with 20 points while Austin Dyer finished with 11. Marcus Girres finished with six points while Michael Girres had four.
Shane Milles led North Union with 15 points and seven rebounds. Colin Runksmeier had five points and three steals while Kaleb Olson had four points, Colton McConnell and Alex Krantz each had three and Jacob Braddock had two.
Also Aric Runge had six rebounds and five blocked shots. Matt Adams had four rebounds.
GTRA (6-8 overall) is on the road against Marcus-Meriden-Cleghorn today.
North Union (2-14 overall) hosts Clay Central-Everly on Tuesday.
