Estherville Lincoln Central's one-act play and ensemble participants learned they earned all-state recognition.
The two groups performed this past Saturday at the state large group contest in LeMars. The students will not perform, but they will travel to the Iowa State University Campus in Ames to watch other all-state performers.
Instructor Michael Maffin directed the ensemble group of Becca Lair, Brianna Enerson, Cheyanne Lepird and Reese Vedder.

The performed a play called "This Dream," a humorous classroom scene in which students experience test anxiety.
Taking part in the one-act play were Bobbi Hansen, Tristan Waterman, Paige Stoliker, Season Burton, Lair, Enerson, Kyle Marks, Zach Humble, Madison Burns and Brandon Sharar.
Their play had a more serious with the subject of high school bullying. Amy Condon directed that show.
"Both directors were impressed with the ballots received from the judges," said Maffin. "They were highly complimentary of the students' abilities as performers."
Speech students are currently in the process of rehearsing for individual speech contests, which will be held Saturday, Feb. 23 at Bishop Garrigan High School in Algona.
