TERRIL - In a preview of tonight's Class 1A first-round game, Graettinger-Terril/Ruthven-Ayrshire and Clay Central-Everly met in a regular season finale on Tuesday.
The visiting Mavericks (15-4 overall) led from start to finish with a 12-8 lead after one quarter, 29-17 at halftime and 39-27 after three quarters before winning 50-32.
"We struggled offensively tonight," said GTRA coach Todd Hough, whose team was 13-of-45 from the field. "We started off really cold and missed some easy shots early on and we had trouble taking care of the basketball tonight. Defensively we didn't play too badly, but we did not rebound the ball very well."
Lauren Flaharty led the Titans with nine points and four rebounds. Brooke Hoffman, Grace Skattebo and Marly Bakken each scored six points while Paige Hoffman had two and Claire Sparks had one.
Morgan McGrauth had three assists and two steals. Bakken also had two steals
GTRA (6-14 overall, 3-7 in the Cornbelt Conference) travels to Everly to play the Mavericks at 7 p.m. tonight.
