RUTHVEN - Newell-Fonda applied intense defensive pressure from start to finish and Graettinger-Terril/Ruthven-Ayrshire couldn't handle it well enough as the Mustangs defeated the Titans 84-50 on Friday.
The Mustangs (16-5) constantly trapped the Titan players, many times forcing the hosts into bad decisions that led to turnovers.
Newell-Fonda led 26-12 after one quarter and pulled ahead to 41-21 by halftime.

The visitors started the second half with a 7-0 run before Connor Sturgill scored four straight points, but the visitors responded with a 12-2 run to lead 60-27.
The Titans finally hit some shots late in the quarter, but trailed 66-36 to start the final frame.
Sturgill and Trevor Hagedorn each had 14 points to lead GTRA. Hagedorn had 10 of his in the first half while Sturgill had 10 of his in the second half. Andy Geelan finished with nine points, Mason McGrauth had five, Marcus Girres had four and Austin Dyer and Lane Reiman each had two.
The Titans were 7-of-12 from the free-throw line while the visitors were 10-of-19. DaltonAnderson led Newell-fonda with 23 points and Dillon Anderson had 17.
The Titans finish the regular season with an 8-13 record overall and open postseason play on Thursday against Trinity Christian (12-9).
Trinity Christian has beaten GTRA twice this year-66-41 on Dec. 18 and 59-51 on Jan. 25. Thursday game starts at 7 p.m. in Hull.
