The Iowa Lakes Community College Board of Trustees at its meeting at the Estherville campus Tuesday set bid and public hearing dates for the Sustainable Energy Resource Technology facility in the former Medieval Glass building.
Delaine Hiney, executive director of facilities management, said the estimated $4.5 million project would include renovating the 43,000-square-foot building to accommodate the HVAC program starting this fall, an updated environmental studies lab, NC3 training area, a "heights room" for training wind turbine and energy technology students and future growth upstairs.
The board approved setting a bid date for the project for 2 p.m. April 11 with a public hearing at the April board meeting.
The board also held a public hearing and approved a bid of $421,600 for the new swine facility at the college farm west of Emmetsburg.
The bid was by New Modern concepts of Iowa Falls.
