Parents: What do you need to know about child care?

March 27, 2013
Estherville Daily News

After closing the infant center in January, Estherville Lincoln Central School is closing the rest of the Estherville Child Care Center at the end of June, leaving families in the community wondering what's next.

Child Care Resource & Referral has been meeting with key community members to try and find a solution to the shortage in child care in the community.

And now, parents are being given the opportunity to learn more about what options they do have when it comes to caring for their child(ren).

Child Care Resource & Referral will be hosting an informational meeting for parents and those who care about children at Iowa Lakes Community College in Estherville on Tuesday, April 9th at 6:30pm. All parents are welcome to come with questions they have about child care in their community.

A brief overview of licensing and regulation rules, what quality indicators they could look for in a child care program, parent responsibilities and what child care providers expect will be topics discussed.

You're the expert when it comes to deciding what is best for you and your child(ren). Remember it's okay to be choosy.

Because each child's needs are unique, Child Care Resource & Referrals free services for parents provides referrals to child care providers via phone, in person and through the internet.
