An Armstrong man was arrested April by the Emmet County Sheriff's Office as a result of an investigation into the burglary to a pickup truck in Ringsted on April 3.
Emmet County Sheriff Mike Martens reports that at 10 p.m. on April 3, the sheriff's office received a call from a Ringsted resident reporting the theft of a Ruger 9 mm pistol from his pickup truck. A subsequent investigation into the incident by the sheriff's office and Armstrong Police Department led to the search of the property located at 910 A Ave. in Armstrong by both agencies. Drug paraphernalia and the stolen pistol were located at this location.
As a result this David Allen Nohrenberg, 37, of 910 A Avenue in Armstrong was placed under arrest for possession of drug paraphernalia, a simple misdemeanor, and possession of a firearm as a person convicted of domestic abuse, a class D felony.
Nohrenberg was booked into the Emmet County Jail where bond in the amount of $9,750 cash or surety was set for his release from custody.
As a result of this same investigation, a 16-year-old male from Ringsted was also charged with burglary in the third degree, an aggravated misdemeanor, in regard to the theft of the pistol from the pickup in Ringsted that was reported April 4. The juvenile was charged and released to the custody of his parents. The investigation is continuing.
