SPENCER - Sophomore Caitlyn Clayton paced Estherville Lincoln Central at the Spencer Girls Invitational track meet on Tuesday.

Clayton won the shot put with a throw of 38 feet, 9 inches and took second in the discus with a throw of 100 feet, 6 inches.

ELC finished with a four fourth-place finishes, one fifth and three sixths.

In spite of the rough night, the Midgets were just glad to get a meet in.

"It's been hard to keep the girls motivated so a meet was great," said ELC coach Tina Burton. "It's also frustrating for the girls as a lot of times were very similar to the last meet almost two weeks ago. We need competition, so we need to change how we do things, especially if weather continues to be a problem."

Individually, Rachel Bats placed fourth in the 400-meter hurdles in 77 seconds while Megan Jensen placed fourth in the 100-meter hurdles in 17.64 seconds.

The shuttle hurdle relay team of Jensen, Payton Platt, Hannah Newton and Bates finished fourth in 1:23.13. Also fourth was the sprint medley relay team of Briseide Segura, Platt, Jensen and Alicia Jorgenson in 2:12.02.

The 4x800-meter relay team of Bates, Colleen Humble, Brianna Enerson and Cydnie Jo Anderson placed fifth in 11:33.91.

Enerson placed sixth in the 400-meter dash in 67.3 seconds. The 4x200-meter relay team of Jayden Ferrell, Kayla Jensen, Shayla King and Emilee Olson placed sixth in 2:06.02. The 4x100-meter relay team of Taylor Greig, Jensen, King and Caitlyn also placed sixth in 57.87 seconds.
