SPIRIT LAKE - The North Union Boys Track Team did very well at the Iowa Great Lakes Invitational in Spirit Lake on Tuesday as they won the Class B division with 139 points.
Sioux Central finished second with 117 points and West Bend-Mallard had 112.
The Warriors had seven top finishes with Aric Runge recording three and Brian Becker had two.
Runge won the 400-meter hurdles in 1:01.86, the 110-meter high hurdles in 16.3 seconds and the high jump with a leap of 5 feet, 8 inches. Braden Ortmann was second in the high jump with a leap of 5 feet, 6 inches.
Becker won the 3200-meter run in 10 minutes, 53.16 seconds and the 1600-meter run in 5 minutes. Matt Adams finished third in the 1600 in 5:05 and snagged first in the 800-meter run in 2:14.43.
Also, Marshall Klingenberg won the shot put with a throw of 43 feet, 7 1/4 inches. Jacob Braddock was fifth with a throw of 36 feet, 5 1/4 inches.
Jake Adams finished second in the 400meer dash in 56.1 seconds.
The shuttle hurdle relay team of Runge, Chandler Meyer, Cory Tigges and Wyatt Runksmeier finished third in 1:17.2.
Also third were the 4x200-meter relay team of Klingenberg, Ty Anderson, Kevin Nemmers and Ortmann in 1:46.4, the 4x800-meter relay team of Matt Adams, Joey Stauffer, Lucas Hardman and Jake Adams in 9:16.9 and the 4x400-meter relay team of Stauffer, Hardman, Meyer and Josh Braddock in 4:18.
In the 200-meter dash, Anderson placed fourth in 26.3 seconds and Nemmers placed fifth in 26.9 seconds. The medley relay team of Nemmers, Austin Hellman, Stauffer and Becker finished fourth in 4:23.07.
Dyson Umscheid took fourth in the discus with a throw of 102 feet.
Klingenberg placed fifth in the 100-meter dash in 12.1 seconds while the 4x100-meter relay team of Jacob Braddock, Ortmann, Anderson and Klingenberg.\
