STORM LAKE - With some players missing from the lineup, the Estherville Lincoln Central boys' tennis team was shut out against Storm Lake on Thursday.

But the Midgets still had a couple good matches.

Playing at the No. 1 singles, Levi Jensen played a tough match before losing 10-4.

At the No. 2 doubles, John Reisner and Tim Soper battled hard before falling 10-8 to Ross Dewerff and Caleb Hinners.

"We had some guys gone, and though the results don't look very good, we had some guys step up," said ELC coach Tony Klein. "Levi played really well at the #1 singles. John and Tim faced several match points when they were down 6-9 and again when it was 7-9 and they kept battling."

In other singles play, Reisner lost 10-2 to Jesse Luedtke, Soper lost 10-2 to Dewerff, Jacob Olson lost 10-1 to Hinners, Brandon Sharar lost 10-0 to Jake Luedtke and Kyle Marks lost 10-0 to Matt Statz.

In doubles, Jensen and Olson lost 10-2 to Anderson and Jesse Luedtke and Sharar and Marks lost 10-0 to Jake Luedtke and Statz.

In exhibition play, Jose Rodriguez lost 8-0 and Koby Schubert lost 8-2.

ELC returns to action at home today against Spencer.
