SIBLEY - While Estherville Lincoln Central placed seventh out of eight teams at the Sibley-Ocheyedan Tournament on Monday, Tia Bernholtz had a good night on the links.
Bernholtz carded a 51 to earn a medal as the top 10 individuals medaled.
"Tia had a good night and medaled," said ELC coach Kevin Richardson. She tied for eighth but got 10 on the handicap holes. So far she has been consistently down around 51 and has been right there."
Okoboji's Alex Mankle led the field with a 44 while LeMars' Emily Ellefson was runner-up with a 47.
Other scores counting toward the team total for ELC were a 58 by Shelby Lappegard, a 60 by Britney Busch and a 69 from Lauren Moeller.
Non-counting score was a 70 by Catie Tvedt.
"Shelby had a nice round," said Richardson. "Lauren was a little off - she had such good rounds at Spring Valley this weekend we hoped she could continue. We will need her or Catie to be down around that 55-60 range to compete team-wise."
Spirit Lake finished fourth overall. Sydney Spies led the Indians with a 53, Abby Goodenow shot a 54, Anie Butler shot a 56, Kristen Salzwedel and Elli Ktzfey each shot 57s. Also, Callan Hinn shot a 68.
