STORM LAKE - Members of the Estherville Lincoln Central boys' track team continued to lower their times as the Storm Lake Meet on Monday.
"I'm pleased with the teams efforts," said ELC coach Dick Barrett. "We improved our position in the rankings for the upcoming district meet."
Justin Heinrichs provided the lone first-place finish as he won the 400-meter low hurdles with a career-best time of 57.56 seconds.
ELC's shuttle hurdle relay team of Alec Wycoff, Michael McCauley, Matt Burrell and Heinrichs finished second in 1:02.3.
The Midgets' 4x800-meter relay team of Joe Heinrichs, Blake Gjerde, Rod Fuller and Tyler Swanson finished third in 8:25.67.
The 4x200-meter relay team of Derek Nieland, Matt Burrell, Andres Blanco and Adam Reiter took fourth in 1:36.14.
Also fourth was the medley relay team of Blanco, Reiter, Burrell and Joe Heinrichs with a season-best time of 3:48.91.
Lee Christensen finished fifth in the 3200-meter run in 11:02.7. McCauley placed fifth in the high hurdles in 17.2 seconds.
Also fifth was the 4x100-meter relay team of Nieland, Kyle DeVary, Blanco and Reiter in 46.47 seconds.
Fuller took sixth in the 1600-meter run with a career-best time of 4:49.
Also sixth was the 4x400-meter relay team of Justin Heinrichs, Swanson, Zain Dostal and Burrell in a season-best time of 3:36.38.
Dostal jumped a career-best in the long jump with a leap of 18 feet, 10 1/2 inches.
Chase Bonner threw a season-best 45 feet, 1/2 inch in the shot put, but placed seventh.
In the junior varsity 4x200-meter relay, ELC took second. Wycoff, Evan Hansen, Dan Christensen and Martin Christensen finished in 1:40.69.
The 4x100-meter JV team of Wycoff, Hansen, Dan Christensen and McCauley placed fourth in 48.76 seconds.
ELC is scheduled to travel to the Lakes Conference meet in Cherokee on Thursday.
