ALGONA - The Estherville Lincoln Central girls golf team sent three players to the Bishop Garrigan Tournament on Saturday.

Tia Bernholtz led the Midgets by shooting a 113. Lauren Moeller finished with a 117 and Britney Busch carded a 126.

"It was a very nice day and the girls shot well on a tough course," said ELC coach Kevin Richardson. "The competition at this meet is very good: 2-4 of these teams will likely play in the state tournament. Lauren had two nice rounds and was hitting the ball well on Saturday. Tia and Brittney had good rounds; both just had a couple of bad holes that jumped their score up."

Bishop Garrigan won with a 364 followed by Clear Lake with 373, Emmetsburg with 417, Algona with 420, Garner-Hayfield/Ventura with 449, Clarion-Goldfield with 453, ELC with 518, Newman with 535 and Humboldt with 571.
