ESTHERVILLE - Graveside services for Tamam Wilson, 101, of Estherville will be held 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 7, 2013, at East Side Cemetery in Estherville with Pastor Doug Burton officiating.
She died Tuesday, April 30, 2013 at Avera Holy Family Hospital in Estherville.
Tamam Wilson born Oct. 1, 1911 at Estherville, the daughter of John and Jeannette (Lingenfelter) Martyr. Her father was an American immigrant and her mother was the daughter of early Emmet County homesteaders who came by covered wagon from Lingenfelters Hills, N.Y.
Tamam was the namesake of her paternal grandmother, Tamam Marderosian. She graduated from Estherville High School and spent her early years working in the family business until her parents' retirement in 1938.
She married Robert Wilson, March 22, 1940. Both were employed in defense work during the war but returned to Estherville after the war from Tacoma, Wash.
They owned and operated Wilson's Zenith Radio and T.V. until their retirement in 1976 when they moved to Tacoma and again returned in 1982.
She was a member of the First Christian Church; charter member of the Ft. Defiance Chapter of the Izaac Walton League; the Living Bank of Houston, Texas and the American Missionary Society of America. She remained active in the Emmet County Chapter of the Izaac Walton League throughout the years.
Preceding her in death were her husband, Robert, in 1998; infant son, David; her parents; brothers, Paul and Orlando and sister, Sara Jacobsen.
