Quastad Minion elected recorder

16 percent of voters turn out for special election

Republican Diann Quastad Minion was the apparent winner in Tuesday's Emmet County Recorder To Fill Vacancy Special Election, defeating Democrat Phyllis Martens 802-381, with 1,183 total votes cast.

In a fairly solid turnout for a special election, 16 percent of Emmet County's 7,336 registered voters cast their ballots.

Quastad Minion won handily at all voting stations. Following are the results:
