ALGONA - North Union earned two victories on Saturday at a tournament in Algona.
The Warriors defeated Garner-Hayfield/Ventura 12-0 in three innings and then won 5-4 over Van Meter.
Peyton Oleson earned the win for the Warriors in game one. She struck out three batters while pitching a no hitter and walking none.
North Union finished with nine hits. Cheyanne Boland was 1-2 with three RBIs. Allie Ingalls and Collete Haag each went 2-2 with Ingalls recording two doubles and an RBI and Haag having a double and two RBIs. Also Sara Johnson was 1-1 with two RBIs.
Deena Looft and Sara Rolling each went 1-2 with an RBI and Autumn Boland was 1-3 with an RBI. Jasmine Clausen also had an RBI.
Against Van Meter, North Union took a 5-1 lead into the seventh inning before the Bulldogs put together a rally to score three runs.
Ingalls earned the win despite giving up 13 hits. All four runs were earned and Ingalls had five strikeouts and one walk.
North Union finished with 11 hits. Autumn Boland was 3-4 and Dena Looft was 2-4 with an RBI. Hag was 1-4 with a home run and two RBIs and Cheyanne Boland and Johnson each were 1-3 with an RBI. Clausen and Taylor Mathine each were 1-3 and Ingalls was 1-4.
North Union (10-0) was home against Clay Central-Everly on Monday. The Warriors are at Okoboji tonight,
On Friday, North Union defeated Emmetsburg 10-0 in six innings.
Ingalls pitched all six innings and gave up just one hit while striking out 10 batters.
The Warriors finished with eight hits. Looft was 2-2 with a double and three RBIs. Haag was 1-4 with a double and an RBI. Autumn Boland was 2-4 with two RBIs. Cheyanne Boland, Rolling and Johnson each went 1-3. Rolling had two RBIs. Ingalls had an RBI.
