ELC board OKs wage hike

July 2, 2013
By Michael Tidemann - Staff Writer , Estherville Daily News

The Estherville Lincoln Central Board of Education Tuesday gave tentative approval to a salary and benefits contract for certified staff, with a 3.95 percent increase.

The raise represents another $221,000.

Superintendent Tara Paul said the package includes a $560 increase in the base with a vertical step. The board will also reinstate a $289 increase approved last year.

The increase falls almost exactly in line with the conference-wide 4 percent increase this year and slightly above the 3.88 percent state average.

At Tuesday's meeting the board also approved final bills for the end of the fiscal year.

The board also approved a 40-cent increase for support staff, the same as for custodial staff.
