LUVERNE - North Union had little trouble with Corwith-Wesley-Luverne in a doubleheader on Monday, defeating the Panthers 13-2 in five innings and 26-0 in four innings.
Brandon Kollasch earned the win in game one as he gave up two unearned runs on four hits with four strikeouts and four walks. Ten of the Warriors 13 runs were earned as they pounded out 15 hits.
Spencer Ricke was 3-3 with three RBIs while Collin Runksmeier was 3-4 with three RBIs, Alex Deitering was 2-3 with two RBIs, Jake Adams was 2-3 with an RBI Sawyer Doocy was 2-4 with an RBI, Kollasch was 1-3 with an RBI, Cody Runksmeier and Jake Govern each were 1-4. Also Garrett Johnson had two RBIs.
In the second game, North Union scored nine runs in the second inning and 13 in the third.
Deitering pitched four innings in the win and gave up two hits with six strikeouts and two walks.
North Union pounded out 20 hits and 18 of their 26 runs were earned.
Doocy led the Warriors as he went 1-3 with a home run and four RBIs. Johnson also was 1-2 with a home run and 4 RBIs while Alex Deitering was 2-3 with four RBIs. Corey Vaske finished 4-5 with five RBIs, Cody Runksmeier was 2-2 and Colin Runksmeier was 2-3 with an RBI while Braden Ortman was 2-2.
Logan Hellman, Parker Oleson, Ricke, Ryan Larson, Kollasch and Alex Krantz each had a hit.
North Union (19-8 overall) was at Pocahontas on Wednesday. The Warriors host Manson-Northwest Webster today.
