The Estherville Lincoln Central Volleyball program is under new management for the 2013 season.
Carly Marx, a Caledonia, Mich. native, leads the ELC squad. Assistant coaches are RaLeah Held and Jean Jensen.
Marx coached the last four years at Forest Hills Eastern (Mich.), winning the conference champion every year and regionals once.

Her move to Estherville came after she was married this past summer. Her husband Levi, also a Michigan native, lives in Spirit Lake and teaches wood shop at Okoboji schools.
Marx played volleyball at South Christian High School near Grand Rapids, Mich. At Calvin College, she played a year of soccer.
When she began student teaching at Moline Christian, she also received her first volleyball coaching experience. She was asked to be the seventh grade coach at the middle school.
After her college, her first teaching job was at North Middle School in Belleville, Mich. Marx said that didn't have a school squad, but she ran the volleyball intramural team for that school.
With practice starting this week for ELC this week, Marx said it has gone well.
"The girls are super hardworking and they pick up things like sponges," she said.
Marx also has praise for the support she's received.
"(Athletic director) Brad Leonard and the athletic boosters have been extremely supportive," she said. "They have made sure we have all the proper equipment and anything we need to make sure we're successful."
In trying to summarize her coaching philosophy, Marx said she tries to always be open to new ideas.
"Also try to give 100 percent all the time and never settle with where you're at."
