SPIRIT LAKE - The Estherville Lincoln Central Boys Cross Country Team has a front-runner again.
Lee Christensen finished fourth overall at the Spirit Lake meet Tuesday evening and ELC placed seventh out of nine teams with 184 points.
ELC coach Tina Burton said Christensen ran 400 miles during the summer and the results obviously paid off for the sophomore. He finished the 5K race in16 minutes, 54 seconds.

"Lee's in the league that we thought he could be in last year," said Burton. "That he put in his time this summer showed."
ELC was without its No. 2 runner, Nic Peters due to an illness.
Tristan Fales and Kelly Clabaugh both tried to pick up the pace.
Fales finished 34th in 19:34 while Kelly Clabaugh placed 40th in 19:54.
Drew Condon placed 52nd in 22:16, Dorde Konken placed 54th in 23:11 and Isaac Jorgenson placed 56th in 24:26.
ELC travels to Spencer on Thursday.
The Midgets host their meet next Tuesday, Sept. 10 at the Estherville Golf Course.
ELC picked up a second meet next week and will travel to Holstein on Saturday.
