The Estherville Lincoln Central Board of Education Monday said farewell to two veteran board members - Michelle McCoy and Don Schiltz - as it reorganized from seven to five members, something district voters approved in the previous school election.
Schiltz chose not to run again and McCoy faced off with Duane Schnell who had enough votes to remain the board. Unchallenged in the Sept. 10 school election was Jodie Greig.
The new board gave the nod to Mike Karels as new board president and Kathy Cornwall as vice president.
In other business at Monday's meeting, the board approved the second reading of 400 series policies, approved the consent agenda and heard administrator reports. There was also a presentation on Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports.
"It's a positive spin on what's expected of kids," said superintendent Tara Paul.
Middle-school principal Nathan Essary introduced new staff and discussed new technology in the classroom.
